Abstract
In general, intelligent fuel dispensers are provided. In at least some implementations, an intelligent fuel dispenser can determine customer identities and/or other characteristics and provide customized fueling sessions based on the determined customer identities and/or other characteristics. In at least some implementations, the fuel dispenser includes a touchless interface allowing customers to complete fueling sessions with minimal physical contact with the fuel dispenser.

(canceled)
A fuel dispenser comprising:
- a housing comprising fuel dispensing components disposed therein;
- one or more display screens attached to the housing;
- one or more sensors attached to the housing and configured to monitor one or more conditions of the fuel dispenser;
- and
- at least one data processor operatively coupled to the one or more display screens, the one or more sensors, and one or more other fuel dispensers within a fueling facility via a communication network, wherein the at least one data processor is programmed to:
- receive sensor data from the one or more sensors characterizing the one or more conditions of the fuel dispenser;
- determine, from the sensor data, that a fault condition has occurred;
- and
- transmit one or more coordination requests to the one or more other fuel dispensers, via the communication network, which cause the one or more other fuel dispensers to perform a specified task to coordinate operations of the fuel dispenser and the one or more other fuel dispensers.
A fuel dispenser network comprising:
- a communication network;
- a facility controller of a fueling facility operatively coupled to the communication network;
- and
- a plurality of fuel dispensers provided at the fueling facility and comprising at least a first fuel dispenser and a second fuel dispenser, wherein each of the plurality of fuel dispensers comprises a housing having fuel dispensing components disposed therein, one or more display screens, one or more sensors attached to the housing and configured to monitor one or more conditions of the fuel dispenser, and at least one data processor operatively coupled to the one or more display screens, the one or more sensors, the communication network, and the facility controller, wherein the at least one data processor of the first fuel dispenser is programmed to:
- receive sensor data from the one or more sensors characterizing the one or more conditions of the first fuel dispenser;
- and
- transmit one or more coordination requests to the second fuel dispenser, via the communication network, which cause the second fuel dispenser to perform a specified task to coordinate operations between the first and second fuel dispensers.
A fuel dispenser network comprising:
- a communication network;
- a facility controller of a fueling facility operatively coupled to the communication network;
- and
- one or more first fuel dispensers provided at the fueling facility, wherein each of the one or more first fuel dispensers comprises a housing having fuel dispensing components disposed therein, an image sensor configured to capture images, and at least one data processor operatively coupled to the communication network and the facility controller;
- and
- a second fuel dispenser provided at the fueling facility and comprising a housing having fuel dispensing components disposed therein, one or more display screens, one or more sensors attached to the housing and configured to monitor one or more conditions of the second fuel dispenser, and at least one data processor operatively coupled to the one or more display screens, the one or more sensors, the communication network, and the facility controller, wherein the at least one data processor of the second fuel dispenser is programmed to:
- receive sensor data from the one or more sensors characterizing the one or more conditions of the second fuel dispenser;
- determine, from the sensor data, that a fault condition has occurred, wherein the fault condition comprises a detection of a potential drive-off situation;
- and
- transmit, via the communication network, one or more coordination requests to the one or more first fuel dispensers, which causes the one or more first fuel dispensers to capture image data, via the image sensor, from one or more different vantage points at the fueling facility.
