Abstract
The invention relates to a lens arrangement for an imaging device comprising at least three lenses arranged in sequence along an optical axis: a positive first lens, a negative second lens positioned between the first and third lenses, and a positive third lens. Each lens is made from a different material, all of which are transmissive to light in the mid-wave and long-wave infrared range. The refractive indices of the first and second lens materials are lower than that of the third lens material in this spectral range. This configuration enables improved dual-band infrared imaging performance.
Claims16
Lens arrangement (1) for an imaging device (2), with at least three lenses, wherein
- a first lens (3) is positive and comprises a first lens material,
- a second lens (4) is negative and comprises a second lens material,
- a third lens (5) is positive and comprises a third lens material, wherein
- the first lens (3), the second lens (4) and the third lens (5) are arranged serially on an optical axis, such that the second lens (4) is arranged between the first lens (3) and the third lens (5),
- the first lens material, the second lens material and the third lens material each being transmissive to light in the mid-wave and long-wave infrared range, and
- a refractive index of the first lens material and a refractive index of the second lens material are lower than a refractive index of the third lens material in that infrared range.
