Abstract
A biocide-generating device including a housing having an inlet and an outlet. The biocide-generating device additionally including a strainer basket that mounts within an interior of the housing including parallel electrode plates positioned within an interior of the strainer basket. The biocide generating device additionally including a protective dielectric sleeve in which the electrode plates are received. The protective dielectric sleeve is positioned between the electrode plates and the strainer basket.

(canceled)
A biocide-generating device including:
- a housing having an inlet and an outlet, the housing defining a housing interior;
- a strainer basket having a plurality of straining openings that mounts within the housing interior, the strainer basket defining a basket interior;
- a plurality of electrode plates positioned within the basket interior of the strainer basket and disposed at least partially between the inlet and the outlet of the housing;
- and
- a protective dielectric sleeve in which the plurality of electrode plates are received, the protective dielectric sleeve being positioned at least partially between the plurality of electrode plates and the strainer basket and the protective dielectric sleeve having a complementary shape to an outer perimeter profile of the plurality of electrode plates, the protective dielectric sleeve defining a plurality of sleeve openings allowing water to flow through the protective dielectric sleeve and between the plurality of electrode plates.
A biocide-generating device comprising:
- a housing having an inlet and an outlet, the housing defining an interior;
- a protective sleeve;
- and
- a plurality of electrode plates positioned within the protective sleeve and disposed within the interior of the housing at least partially between the inlet and the outlet;
- wherein the protective sleeve includes an upstream side facing the inlet and a downstream side facing the outlet, the downstream side defining at least one downstream opening greater in size than a plurality of upstream openings defined within the upstream side.
A biocide-generating device comprising:
- a housing defining a longitudinal axis and having an inlet and an outlet, the housing defining a housing interior;
- a strainer basket that mounts within the housing interior of the housing and defining a basket interior with an end wall orthogonal to the longitudinal axis, wherein the strainer basket has a height extending along the longitudinal axis;
- a plurality of electrode plates disposed within the basket interior of the strainer basket and disposed at least partially between the inlet and the outlet of the housing, the plurality of electrode plates including a first end and a second end extending along the longitudinal axis, the second end of the plurality of electrode plates spaced from the end wall of the strainer basket at least a quarter of the height of the strainer basket;
- and
- a protective dielectric sleeve at least partially enclosing the plurality of electrode plates and disposed within the strainer basket, the protective dielectric sleeve also spaced from the end wall of the strainer basket.
A biocide-generating device including:
- a housing having an inlet and an outlet, the housing defining a housing interior configured to receive a flow of water;
- a strainer basket defining a basket interior, wherein the strainer basket is configured to collect debris within the flow of water so that the debris is restricted from flowing out of the outlet of the housing;
- a plurality of electrode plates positioned at least partially within the basket interior of the strainer basket and disposed at least partially between the inlet and the outlet of the housing;
- and
- a protective dielectric sleeve in which the plurality of electrode plates are received, the protective dielectric sleeve being positioned at least partially between the plurality of electrode plates and the strainer basket, the protective dielectric sleeve defining a plurality of sleeve openings allowing water to flow through the protective dielectric sleeve and between the plurality of electrode plates while preventing the debris from becoming lodged between the plurality of electrode plates.
