Abstract
An ice axe cover comprises a head section configured to cover at least a portion of a head of an ice axe. The head section comprises an adze slot for receiving an adze of the ice axe and a pick sleeve for receiving a pick of the ice axe. In some embodiments, at least a cutting edge of the adze is exposed outside the adze slot, and at least a tip of the pick is exposed outside the pick sleeve. The ice axe cover can also comprise a shaft section that covers at least some of a shaft of the ice axe. The shaft section can extend from a shaft junction between the pick sleeve and adze slot of the head section. The ice axe cover can comprise a thermally insulative material, such as neoprene, a grip component, and a reflective component.
Claims20
An ice axe cover comprising:
- a head section configured to cover at least a portion of a head of an ice axe, wherein the head section comprises:
- an adze slot for receiving an adze of the head of the ice axe, the adze slot comprising an adze slot opening, wherein:
- the adze slot is configured to cover at least a portion of the adze of the ice axe, and
- the adze slot is configured to expose outside the ice axe cover, via the adze slot opening, at least a cutting edge of the adze, and
- a pick sleeve for receiving a pick of the head of the ice axe, the pick sleeve comprising extending from the shaft junction of the head section to a pick sleeve opening of the pick sleeve, wherein:
- the pick sleeve is configured to cover at least a portion of the pick of the ice axe, and
- the pick sleeve is configured to expose outside the ice axe cover, via the pick sleeve opening, at least a tip of the pick;
- and
- a shaft section extending from the shaft junction of the head section to a shaft opening, wherein:
- the shaft section is configured to cover at least a portion of a shaft of the ice axe, and
- the shaft section is configured to expose outside the ice axe cover, via the shaft opening, at least some of the shaft of the ice axe.
An ice axe cover comprising:
- an adze slot for receiving an adze of the head of the ice axe, wherein:
- the adze slot is configured to cover at least a portion of the adze of the ice axe, and
- the adze slot is configured to expose outside the ice axe cover at least a cutting edge of the adze, and
- a pick sleeve for receiving a pick of the head of the ice axe, wherein:
- the pick sleeve is configured to cover at least a portion of the pick of the ice axe, and
- the pick sleeve is configured to expose outside the ice axe cover at least a tip of the pick.
