Abstract
A composition comprising alpha-ketoglutaric acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof (AKG), and one or more enzymes selected from a group consisting of a lipase, a protease and an amylase, and medical uses thereof in, neurological and/or neurodegenerative disease, neurological trauma, depression or chronic fatigue syndrome.
Claims18
A method of promoting nerve growth in a subject in need thereof, comprising orally administering to the subject a composition comprising:
- (a) alpha-ketoglutaric acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof (AKG);
- and
- (b) a lipase, a protease and an amylase,
- wherein functional decline in hippocampus of the subject is reduced.
A method of promoting nerve growth in a subject in need thereof, comprising orally administering to the subject a composition comprising:
- (a) alpha-ketoglutaric acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof (AKG);
- and
- (b) a lipase, a protease and an amylase,
- wherein recognition memory accuracy of the subject is improved.
A method of promoting nerve growth in a subject in need thereof, comprising orally administering to the subject a composition comprising:
- (a) alpha-ketoglutaric acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof (AKG);
- and
- (b) a lipase, a protease and an amylase,
- wherein hippocampal neuronal function is improved in the subject.
