Abstract
An image processing apparatus is provided that includes: an obtaining unit is configured to obtain a first radiation image of an object to be examined; and a generating unit configured to, by inputting the first radiation image obtained by the obtaining unit into a learned model, generate a second radiation image in which noise is reduced compared to the first radiation image, wherein the learned model is obtained by training using training data that includes a radiation image obtained by adding noise with attenuated high-frequency components.

A method of controlling an image processing apparatus that performs image processing on a radiation image, the method comprising:
- an obtaining step for obtaining a first radiation image;
- a dividing step for generating a plurality of divided images from the first radiation image;
- a normalization step for performing normalization for narrowing dynamic range on the plurality of divided images obtained by the dividing step;
- an inferring step for perform noise reduction processing on the plurality of divided images using a learned model;
- a denormalization step for performing denormalization for widening dynamic range on the plurality of divided images on which the noise reduction processing has been performed obtained by the inferring step;
- and
- a combining step for generating a second radiation image in which noise is reduced compared to the first radiation image by combining the plurality of divided images on which the noise reduction processing has been performed.
