Abstract
Various embodiments include techniques for inter-processor communication. The techniques include generating a relaxed store message that comprises a first epoch number, incrementing a first counter associated with the first epoch number, and transmitting the relaxed store message to a first directory included in a cache.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method for inter-processor communication, the method comprising:
- receiving a relaxed store message that comprises a first epoch number;
- performing a relaxed store operation based on the relaxed store message;
- and
- incrementing a first counter associated with the first epoch number.
One or more non-transitory computer readable media including instructions that, when executed, cause a directory included in a cache to perform the steps of:
- receiving a relaxed store message that comprises a first epoch number;
- performing a relaxed store operation based on the relaxed store message;
- and
- incrementing a first counter associated with the first epoch number.
A system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a cache that comprises a directory, wherein, in operation, the directory:
- receives, from the processor, a relaxed store message that comprises an epoch number,
- performs a relaxed store operation based on the relaxed store message, and
- increments a counter associated with the epoch number.
