Smart home sensor malfunction detection

A computer system for detecting sensor malfunctions in a smart home, the computer system comprising at least one memory and at least one processor in communication with the at least one memory, the at least one processor configured to:

• receive a baseline plurality of signals from at least one sensor associated with the smart home;
• determine a sensor range of measured values for the at least one sensor based upon the baseline plurality of signals;
• receive a subsequent plurality of signals from the at least one sensor;
• determine that the at least one sensor is malfunctioning based upon at least one signal of the subsequent plurality of signals representing a subsequent measured value being outside the sensor range;
• generate an alert indicating that the at least one sensor is malfunctioning and a change in a status level of the smart home resulting from the at least one sensor malfunctioning;
• and
• transmit the alert to at least one computing device causing the at least one computing device to display the alert.

A computer-implemented method for detecting sensor malfunctions in a smart home, the computer-implemented method performed by at least one processor in communication with at least one memory, the computer-implemented method comprising:

• receiving, via the at least one processor, a baseline plurality of signals from at least one sensor associated with the smart home;
• determining, via the at least one processor, a sensor range of measured values for the at least one sensor based upon the baseline plurality of signals;
• receiving, via the at least one processor, a subsequent plurality of signals from the at least one sensor;
• determining, via the at least one processor, that the at least one sensor is malfunctioning based upon at least one signal of the subsequent plurality of signals representing a subsequent measured value being outside the sensor range;
• generating, via the at least one processor, an alert indicating that the at least one sensor is malfunctioning and a change in a status level of the smart home resulting from the at least one sensor malfunctioning;
• and
• transmitting, via the at least one processor, the alert to at least one computing device causing the at least one computing device to display the alert.

At least one non-transitory computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon for detecting sensor malfunctions in a smart home, wherein when executed by at least one processor in communication with the at least one memory, the computer-executable instructions cause the at least one processor to:

• receive a baseline plurality of signals from at least one sensor associated with the smart home;
• determine a sensor range of measured values for the at least one sensor based upon the baseline plurality of signals;
• receive a subsequent plurality of signals from the at least one sensor;
• determine that the at least one sensor is malfunctioning based upon at least one signal of the subsequent plurality of signals representing a subsequent measured value being outside the sensor range;
• generate an alert indicating that the at least one sensor is malfunctioning and a change in a status level of the smart home resulting from the at least one sensor malfunctioning;
• and
• transmit the alert to at least one computing device causing the at least one computing device to display the alert.
