Abstract
The need for a liquid hand dishwashing composition which is more environmentally sustainable while also providing good suds mileage, even in the presence of greasy particulate soils, is met by formulating the liquid hand dishwashing detergent composition using alkyl glycol sulfate anionic surfactant and a betaine co-surfactant.
Claims20
A liquid hand dishwashing detergent composition comprising from about 5.0% to about 50% by weight of the liquid hand dishwashing detergent composition of a surfactant system, wherein the surfactant system comprises:
- a. anionic surfactant, wherein the anionic surfactant comprises alkyl glycol sulfate anionic surfactant, wherein the alkyl glycol sulfate anionic surfactant has the formula:
- wherein:
- R1 is independently H, alkyl, alkylene, or a mixture thereof;
- R2 is independently alkyl, alkylene, or a mixture thereof;
- a sum of carbon atoms present in R1 and R2 is on average from about 7 to about 19;
- n is from about 1 to about 3, wherein about 90 mol % or greater of surfactant molecules of structure (I) have an n of about 1 and about 10 mol % or less of the surfactant molecules of structure (I) have an n of about 2 or greater;
- and
- M+ is a counterion;
- and
- b. co-surfactant, wherein the co-surfactant is a zwitterionic surfactant, wherein the zwitterionic surfactant comprises betaine surfactant.
