Abstract
A method for forming a silicate film that includes: applying a coating agent containing alkali metal silicate to a surface of glass that contains at least one multivalent metal ion; and forming a silicate film containing a multivalent metal ion in common with that of the glass on the surface of the glass through dissolution of the at least one multivalent metal ion in the glass to the surface of the glass.

A method for forming a silicate film comprising:
- applying a coating agent containing alkali metal silicate to a surface of glass that contains at least one multivalent metal ion;
- and
- forming a silicate film containing a multivalent metal ion in common with that of the glass on the surface of the glass through dissolution of the at least one multivalent metal ion in the glass to the surface of the glass.
