Sand-manure liquid separation plant, a use of the plant, and a method of using the plant

A method of operating a sand-manure separating plant comprising:

• a tank for the processing of a mixture of sand and manure liquid where 90% by weight or more of the sand has a grain size of between 100 microns and 300 microns, the tank comprising:
• a top portion comprising a mixture inlet for filling the mixture of sand and manure liquid to be processed into the tank;
• and
• a bottom portion comprising a sand discharge for discharging sand of the mixture of sand and manure liquid that has settled in the bottom portion;
• wherein a maximum level (ML) of filling of the mixture of sand and manure liquid is defined within the tank;
• and
• wherein the mixture inlet is arranged at a level (L) above the maximum level (ML) of filling;
• a number of fluid outlet(s) connectable to a source of a fluid and arranged next to the mixture inlet above the maximum level (ML) of filling, the number of fluid outlet(s) being configured to provide a flow of the fluid directed towards the maximum level (ML), below the mixture inlet;
• and
• a pre-separator for a raw stream of sand mixed with manure liquid, the pre-separator comprising a cyclone, wherein an outlet portion of the cyclone at a bottom part of the cyclone is arranged at the top portion of the tank for the mixture of sand and manure liquid to be processed in the tank to flow into the tank by gravity via the outlet portion and the mixture inlet;
• the method of operating the sand-manure separation plant comprising:
• filling a raw stream of sand mixed with manure liquid into the pre-separator to provide the mixture of sand and manure liquid;
• filling into the tank the provided mixture of sand and manure liquid
• providing during the filling into the tank, or for all or a substantial time during the filling into the tank, a flow of the fluid into the tank oriented towards a part of a surface of the mixture of sand and manure liquid in the tank below the mixture inlet;
• and
• discharging continuously or intermittently any of the sand of the mixture of sand and manure liquid settled in the bottom portion of the tank;

A use of sand generated by a plant for the processing of a mixture of sand and manure liquid, wherein the plant comprises:

• a tank for the processing of a mixture of sand and manure liquid where 90% by weight or more of the sand has a grain size of between 100 microns and 300 microns, the tank comprising:
• a top portion comprising a mixture inlet for filling the mixture of sand and manure liquid to be processed into the tank;
• and
• a bottom portion comprising a sand discharge for discharging sand of the mixture of sand and manure liquid that has settled in the bottom portion;
• wherein a maximum level (ML) of filling of the mixture of sand and manure liquid is defined within the tank;
• and
• wherein the mixture inlet is arranged at a level (L) above the maximum level (ML) of filling;
• a number of fluid outlet(s) connectable to a source of a fluid and arranged next to the mixture inlet above the maximum level (ML) of filling, the number of fluid outlet(s) being configured to provide a flow of the fluid directed towards the maximum level (ML), below the mixture inlet;
• and
• a pre-separator for a raw stream of sand mixed with manure liquid, the pre-separator comprising a cyclone, wherein an outlet portion of the cyclone at a bottom part of the cyclone is arranged at the top portion of the tank for the mixture of sand and manure liquid to be processed in the tank to flow into the tank by gravity via the outlet portion and the mixture inlet;
• wherein the sand of the mixture of sand and manure liquid is collected from the tank by a method comprising:
• filling a raw stream of sand mixed with manure liquid into the pre-separator to provide the mixture of sand and manure liquid;
• filling into the tank the provided mixture of sand and manure liquid;
• providing during the filling into the tank, or for all or a substantial time during the filling into the tank, a flow of the fluid into the tank oriented towards a part of a surface of the mixture of sand and manure liquid in the tank below the mixture inlet;
• and
• discharging continuously or intermittently any of the sand of the mixture of sand and manure liquid settled in the bottom portion of the tank;
• the use of the sand of the plant comprising:
• taking the sand of the mixture of sand and manure liquid that is discharged continuously or intermittently and forming a bedding for animals in a stable or barn.
