Systems and Methods for Commercial Airstreem Pretreatment

A method of pretreating outside air in an air handler comprising:

• determining a first set dew point of discharge air from an air handler;
• receiving and sensing outside air;
• sensing one or more conditions within an internal space;
• determining a second set dew point based on the first set dew point and the one or more sensed internal space conditions;
• controlling chilled water received from a single intake line based on the second set dew point;
• processing the received outside air over a two-coil system configured to utilize the chilled water to drop the dew point of the processed air to the second dew point;
• outputting the processed air to mix with the return air such that the dew point of the mixed air is equivalent to the first set dew point.

A device, comprising:

• an air intake wherein the air comprises a dry bulb temperature and a dew point temperature;
• a two-coil system comprising:
• a cooling coil system to process a change in the dry bulb temperature and dew point temperature of the air;
• and
• a reheat coil system to process a change in the dry bulb temperature of the air;
• an air outlet configured to direct the processed air for further processing prior to discharge;
• and
• a single water supply system comprising:
• a chilled water intake coupled to the cooling coil system;
• a chilled water return coupled to the reheat coil system;
• wherein the water supply system is configured for control by a single chilled water valve placed on a chilled water return line coupled to the chilled water return;
• and
• a chilled water valve controller configured to issue one or more commands to the single chilled water valve wherein the issued commands are configured to direct the changes in the dry bulb temperature and dew point temperature within the cooling coil system.
