Abstract
A non-crosslinked polymeric heat shrink tubing including poly(ether-block-amide) (PEBA) and methods for making such non-crosslinked polymeric heat shrink tubing is provided. The non-crosslinked PEBA heat shrink tubing disclosed herein finds application, e.g., as a processing aid and final component in the manufacture of catheters and other medical devices.
Claims21
A construct, comprising:
- a hypotube comprising laser-cut interstices;
- and
- a covering disposed over the hypotube, wherein the covering comprises non-crosslinked PEBA in recovered form such that an inner surface of the covering is in direct contact with an outer surface of the hypotube, and
- wherein the non-crosslinked PEBA is not present within the laser-cut interstices of the hypotube.
