## Abstract

A percutaneous circulatory support device includes a housing and an impeller disposed within the housing. The impeller is configured to rotate relative to the housing to cause blood to flow through the housing. A motor is operably coupled to the impeller, and the motor is configured to rotate the impeller relative to the housing. A catheter is coupled to the motor, and a pressure sensor is coupled to the catheter and disposed proximally relative to the housing.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A percutaneous circulatory support device, comprising:
a housing comprising an inlet and an outlet;
an impeller disposed within the housing, the impeller configured to rotate relative to the housing to cause blood to flow into the inlet, through the housing, and out of the outlet;
a motor operably coupled to the impeller, the motor configured to rotate the impeller relative to the housing;
a catheter coupled to the motor;
a sensor housing coupled to the catheter and disposed proximally relative to the motor, the sensor housing having a wall defining an internal chamber;
a pressure sensor disposed within the internal chamber; and
a sensor mount positioned within the internal chamber, the sensor mount supporting the pressure sensor such that the pressure sensor is spaced apart from the wall of the sensor housing.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The percutaneous circulatory support device of claim 1, wherein the sensor housing includes a distally facing aperture.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The percutaneous circulatory support device of claim 1, wherein the sensor housing further includes a transversely-facing aperture.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The percutaneous circulatory support device of claim 3, wherein a distal end of the pressure sensor is positioned distal of a proximal end of the transversely-facing aperture.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The percutaneous circulatory support device of claim 4, wherein the distal end of the pressure sensor is positioned proximal of a distal end of the transversely-facing aperture.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The percutaneous circulatory support device of claim 1, further comprising an outer jacket securing the sensor housing to the catheter.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The percutaneous circulatory support device of claim 1, further comprising an adhesive securing the sensor housing to the catheter.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The percutaneous circulatory support device of claim 1, wherein the pressure sensor comprises one of an optical pressure sensor and an electrical pressure sensor.

### Claim 9

A percutaneous circulatory support device, comprising:
a housing comprising an inlet and an outlet;
an impeller disposed within the housing, the impeller configured to rotate relative to the housing to cause blood to flow into the inlet, through the housing, and out of the outlet;
a motor operably coupled to the impeller, the motor configured to rotate the impeller relative to the housing;
a catheter coupled to the motor;
a sensor housing coupled to the catheter and disposed proximally relative to the motor, the sensor housing having a wall defining an internal chamber and a transversely-facing aperture extending through the wall;
a pressure sensor disposed within the internal chamber such that the wall is spaced radially outward of the pressure sensor.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The percutaneous circulatory support device of claim 9, wherein a distal end of the pressure sensor is positioned distal of a proximal end of the transversely-facing aperture.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The percutaneous circulatory support device of claim 10, wherein the distal end of the pressure sensor is positioned proximal of a distal end of the transversely-facing aperture.

### Claim 12 (depends on 9)
