Abstract
Hand held and portable disinfection units for use with patients having indwelling catheters or are hospitalized or under care in an intensive care unit.

A disinfection assembly, comprising:
- a disinfection unit, including:
- a body;
- and
- a lid rotatably coupled to the body, wherein the lid is rotatable relative to the body between from an open position to a closed position, wherein the body and the lid co-operatively define a recess, and wherein at least one of the body or the lid includes a UV-C LED;
- and
- a catheter assembly receivable in the recess, wherein the catheter assembly includes:
- a catheter hub;
- a luer fitting;
- and
- an adapter manifold to connect a lumen to the luer fitting;
- wherein the UV-C LED is operable to disinfect at least a portion of the catheter assembly based on the catheter assembly being received in the recess and the lid being in the closed position.

- a disinfection unit, including:
- a body;
- a lid rotatably coupled to the body, wherein the lid is rotatable relative to the body between from an open position to a closed position, wherein the body and lid co-operatively define a recess;
- and
- a UV-C LED;
- and
- a catheter assembly arrangeable in the recess, wherein the catheter assembly includes an adapter manifold to connect a lumen to a luer fitting;
- wherein the UV-C LED is operable to disinfect at least a portion of the catheter assembly based on the catheter assembly being received in the recess and the lid being in the closed position.

- a disinfection unit, including:
- a body;
- and

- a plurality of luer fittings;
