Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus comprising:

• an image forming part which forms an image on a medium and discharges the medium on which the image is formed;
• a discharge tray which is disposed above the image forming part and on which the medium discharged from the image forming part is loaded;
• a reading part which is turnably supported on an upper portion of the image forming part between a closed position facing the discharge tray with a discharge space for the medium and an opened position opening the discharge space, and reads an image on a document in a state which the reading part is disposed at the closed position;
• a biasing support part which is provided between the image forming part and the reading part, and biases the reading part from the closed position toward the opened position;
• and
• a turning regulating part which is engaged with the reading part disposed at the closed position and regulates a turning of the reading part, which is applied with a biasing force of the biasing support part, toward the opened position, wherein
• when the medium is discharged from the image forming part to the discharge tray, the turning regulating part is disengaged with the reading part, and allows the turning of the reading part toward the opened position.
