Abstract
A dock area control system includes a vehicle proximity detection system (PDSC). The PDSC includes a vehicle low frequency magnetic field generator (MFG) that generates a vehicle pulsed magnetic field that is sensed by a dock area controller electronics module (DEM).

A dock area control system, comprising:
- a plurality of dock electronic modules (DEMs), each of the DEMs including a microprocessor, a UHF antenna, a UHF transceiver, and a tuned circuit having an inductor and a capacitor configured to detect magnetic signals, wherein a first of the plurality of DEMs is associated with a first aisle of a facility, and a second of the plurality of DEMs is associated with a second aisle of the facility that is immediately adjacent to the first aisle,
- wherein the first of the plurality of DEMs is configured to detect, via the tuned circuit, a vehicle when the vehicle is positioned in the first aisle and not when the vehicle is positioned anywhere in the second aisle;
- wherein the second of the plurality of DEMs is configured to detect, via the tuned circuit, the vehicle when the vehicle is positioned in the second aisle and not when the vehicle is positioned anywhere in the first aisle;
- wherein the microprocessor of the first of the plurality of DEMs is configured to send a first data set through the UHF transceiver of the first of the plurality of DEMs to a proximity detection system of the vehicle when the vehicle has been detected by the first of the plurality of DEMs;
- and
- wherein the microprocessor of the second of the plurality of DEMs is configured to send a second data set through the UHF transceiver of the second of the plurality of DEMs to the proximity detection system of the vehicle when the vehicle has been detected by the second of the plurality of DEMs.

A dock area control system, comprising:
- a dock electronic module (DEM), the DEM including a microprocessor, a UHF antenna, a UHF transceiver, and a tuned circuit having an inductor and a capacitor configured to detect magnetic signals, wherein the DEM is associated with an area of a facility,
- wherein the DEM is configured to detect, via the tuned circuit, a vehicle when the vehicle is positioned within the area and within a first predefined range of the DEM;
- wherein the microprocessor of the DEM is configured to send a data set through the UHF transceiver of the DEM to a proximity detection system of the vehicle when the vehicle has been detected by DEM;
- wherein a data module of the vehicle is configured to store the data set until the vehicle is within a second predefined range of a relay;
- and
- wherein when the vehicle is within the second predefined range of the the relay, the relay is configured to transmit the at least a portion of the data set to a Cloud.
