Abstract
Proposed are a glass panel and a method for forming a glass panel having a curved corner portion. More particularly, proposed are a method for forming a glass panel having a corner portion with a rounded shape or a D-cut shape and the glass panel formed by the method. The corner portion with the rounded shape or the D-cut shape is formed by thermally chamfering an outer surface portion and the corner portion of the glass panel by using a processing member such as a heating rod after the glass panel is tempered before or after cutting the glass panel from a mother glass.
Claims25
A glass panel having a curved corner portion, the glass panel comprising:
- a first tempered layer provided on at least one side selected from a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface,
- wherein one side surface of the first tempered layer has a rounded shape.
A method for forming a glass panel having a curved corner portion, the method comprising:
- a cutting process in which at least one cell-unit glass panel is acquired by cutting a mother glass;
- a first tempering process in which a first tempered layer is formed on a first surface of the glass panel and/or a second surface opposite to the first surface;
- and
- a thermal chamfering process in which an outer surface portion and a corner portion of the glass panel that is cut and that has the first tempered layer are thermally chamfered,
- wherein, after the thermal chamfering process is performed, the glass panel provided with the first tempered layer has a rounded corner portion.
