Abstract
A rotating electrical machine includes a rotor mounted on a shaft, a stator including stator windings with end leads, a bracket which supports a bearing for the shaft, and a frame which supports and encloses the stator. The frame includes a first part and a second part. An aperture for the end leads is formed between the first part and the second part. This can allow an impregnated stator to be inserted into the frame without the need to manipulate the end leads.
Claims15
A rotating electrical machine comprising:
- a rotor mounted on a shaft;
- a stator comprising stator windings with end leads;
- a bracket which supports a bearing for the shaft;
- and
- a frame which supports and encloses the stator,
- wherein the frame comprises a first part and a second part, and an aperture for the end leads is formed between the first part and the second part.
A method of assembly a rotating electrical machine, the rotating electrical machine comprising a stator and a stator frame, wherein the stator comprises stator windings with end leads, the frame comprises a first part and a second part, and an aperture for the end leads is formed between the first part and the second part, the method comprising:
- impregnating the stator;
- inserting the impregnated stator into the first part of the stator frame such that the end leads enter the aperture in an axial direction through an open side of the aperture;
- and
- connecting the first part to the second part to close the open side of the aperture.
