Abstract
A cutter may include a body extending between a distal end and a cutting end comprising a cutting face. A cutter may include a monolithic cutting insert coupled to the cutting face. The cutter assembly can include a rotatable body centered about an axis; and a monolithic insert coupled to the rotatable body, the monolithic insert extending between a base and a cutting end including a cutting face.
Claims26
A cutter comprising:
- a body extending between a distal end and a cutting end comprising a cutting face;
- and
- a monolithic cutting insert coupled to the cutting face, the monolithic cutting insert defining a cutting edge and an insert base.
A cutter assembly comprising:
- a rotatable body centered about an axis;
- and
- a monolithic insert coupled to the rotatable body, the monolithic insert comprising an insert base and a cutting edge.
A method comprising:
- coupling an insert base of a monolithic insert to a cutting end to define a cutting face of a rotatable body;
- and
- rotating the rotatable body to rotate the monolithic insert defining the cutting face of the rotatable body.
