A wound dressing comprising:
- a hydrophilic foam layer having a proximal side and a distal side;
- and
- an active layer comprising an active-layer antimicrobial agent comprising a quaternary ammonium siloxane, wherein the active layer is disposed on the proximal side of the foam layer.
