Abstract
A system for remote transdermal alcohol monitoring includes and/or interfaces with a transdermal alcohol sensing device. Additionally or alternatively, the system can include and/or interface with any or all of: a user device; a supplementary alcohol sensing device; a set of supplementary sensors; a computing subsystem; a user interface; and/or any other components. A method for remote transdermal alcohol monitoring includes: receiving a set of inputs; determining a set of outputs; and triggering an action based on the set of outputs.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- providing an alcohol sensing device comprising a set of sensors to a user, wherein the set of sensors comprises an alcohol sensor and a temperature sensor;
- at the alcohol sensing device, generating a first set of data from the set of sensors, the first set of data comprising:
- temperature data generated from the temperature sensor, and
- intoxication data generated from the alcohol sensor based on a sample provided by the user;
- at a computing system in communication with the alcohol sensing device, processing the first set of data with:
- a tamper detection process, comprising determining a tamper metric,
- indicative of tampering with the alcohol sensing device by the user, based on the first set of data and supplementary data generated from an optical sensor, and
- an intoxication detection process, comprising determining a blood alcohol concentration based on the intoxication data;
- and
- transmitting a second set of data to a remote monitoring entity, wherein the second set of data comprises the tamper metric and the blood alcohol concentration.

A method comprising:
- providing an alcohol sensing device comprising a set of sensors to a user, wherein the set of sensors comprises an alcohol sensor, a motion sensor, and a temperature sensor;
- at the alcohol sensing device, generating a first set of data from the set of sensors, the first set of data comprising:
- temperature data generated from the temperature sensor,
- motion data generated from the motion sensor, and
- intoxication data generated from the alcohol sensor;
- at a computing system in communication with the alcohol sensing device, processing the first set of data with:
- a verification process, comprising comparing the temperature data to a temperature associated with the user to determine a user detection metric,
- a tamper detection process, comprising determining a tamper metric,
- indicative of tampering with the alcohol sensing device by the user, based on the first set of data, and
- an intoxication detection process, comprising determining an intoxication metric from a sample provided by the user, based on the intoxication data;
- and
- transmitting a second set of data to a remote monitoring entity, wherein the second set of data comprises at least one of the tamper metric, the intoxication metric, and the user detection metric.
