Abstract
In some embodiments, disclosed is a glenohumeral implant with improved joint mobility. The implant can include a backing component; a neutral non-inclined bearing component on a concave side of the backing component, the bearing component made from a different material than the backing component and configured to touch a glenosphere having a center of rotation.

1-19. (canceled)
A humeral shoulder implant, comprising:
- a backing component configured to be secured to a humeral stem, the backing component having an inferior side and a superior side, wherein the inferior side of the backing component comprises a flat portion configured to contact a humerus at a humeral plane;
- a peg extending from the inferior side of the backing component, the peg having a peg central axis extending through the peg and the backing component;
- a first bearing component configured to be secured to the superior side of the backing component,
- wherein the first bearing component is configured to contact a glenosphere at a first contact point on a first concave superior surface of the first bearing component, the first contact point being a first distance from a first intersection point located where the peg central axis intersects the first concave superior surface of the first bearing component,
- wherein a superior side of the first bearing component defines a first bearing component plane, and
- wherein the first bearing component plane is parallel to the flat portion on the inferior side of the backing component;
- and
- a second bearing component configured to be secured to the superior side of the backing component,
- wherein the second bearing component is configured to contact the glenosphere at a second contact point on a second concave superior surface of the second bearing component, the second contact point being a second distance from a second intersection point located where the peg central axis intersects a concave superior surface of the second bearing component,
- wherein a superior side of the second bearing component defines a second bearing component plane, and
- wherein the second bearing component plane is inclined at an angle with respect to the flat portion on the inferior side of the backing component;
- wherein the first distance and the second distance are equal.

A humeral shoulder implant, comprising:
- a backing component configured to be secured to a humeral stem, the backing component having an inferior side and a superior side, wherein the inferior side of the backing component comprises a flat portion configured to contact a humerus at a humeral plane;
- and
- a bearing component configured to be secured to the superior side of the backing component, wherein the bearing component comprises a concave superior side and an inferior side,
- wherein at least a portion of the bearing component between the concave superior side of the bearing component and the inferior side of the bearing component resides at or below the humeral plane when the backing component and bearing component are coupled to the humeral stem implanted in the humerus.
