Abstract
A method of enabling one or more functions of a device is disclosed. The method includes sensing by a device a physiological parameter of a user of the device. The device determines whether or not the physiological parameter that is sensed satisfies a criterion. Responsive to determining that the physiological parameter that is sensed satisfies the criterion, the device enables a number of functions of the device while disabling a function of the device.
Claims12
A method comprising:
- sensing, with at least one sensor of a mobile device, a physiological parameter of a user;
- detecting, with a detection module of the mobile device, whether a proximity criterion between the mobile device and a second device is satisfied;
- determining, based on the sensed physiological parameter, whether the user is in a first physiological state;
- enabling, responsive to detecting that the proximity criterion is satisfied and that the user is in the first physiological state, a mode of the mobile device in which communication with the second device is permitted;
- and
- disabling the mode in response to the proximity criterion or physiological state no longer being satisfied.
3 more elements
A mobile device comprising:
- one or more processing devices;
- at least one physiological sensor coupled to the one or more processing devices;
- at least one proximity detection module for determining proximity between the mobile device and a second device;
- one or more processor readable mediums including instructions, which when executed by the one or more processing devices, cause the mobile device to:
- receive from the at least one physiological sensor, information indicative of a physiological parameter of a user of the mobile device;
- receive from the at least one detection module, information indicative of whether a proximity criterion between the mobile device and the second device is satisfied;
- determine, based on the sensed physiological parameter, whether the user is in a first physiological state;
- enable, responsive to detecting that the proximity criterion is satisfied and that the user is in the first physiological state, a mode of the mobile device in which communication with the second device is permitted;
- and
- disable the mode in response to the proximity criterion or physiological state no longer being satisfied.
