Abstract
Methods, systems, and devices for method for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may measure a channel state information reference signal using a candidate UE beam from a set of candidate UE beams. In some cases, the measuring may indicate a spectral efficiency associated with the candidate UE beam. The UE may then transmit a measurement report indicating an effective reference signal received power associated with the candidate UE beam. The effective reference signal received power may be based on the spectral efficiency associated with the candidate UE beam.
Claims20
A user equipment (UE), comprising:
- one or more memories storing processor-executable code;
- and
- one or more processors coupled with the one or more memories and individually or collectively operable to execute the code to cause the UE to:
- measure a channel state information reference signal using a candidate UE beam from a set of candidate UE beams, wherein the measuring comprises measuring a spectral efficiency associated with the candidate UE beam;
- and
- transmit a measurement report indicating an effective reference signal received power associated with the candidate UE beam, wherein the effective reference signal received power is calculated using the spectral efficiency associated with the candidate UE beam.
A method for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE), comprising:
- measuring a channel state information reference signal using a candidate UE beam from a set of candidate UE beams, wherein the measuring comprises measuring a spectral efficiency associated with the candidate UE beam;
- and
- transmitting a measurement report indicating an effective reference signal received power associated with the candidate UE beam, wherein the effective reference signal received power is calculated using the spectral efficiency associated with the candidate UE beam.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code for wireless communications, the code comprising instructions executable by one or more processors to:
- measure a channel state information reference signal using a candidate UE beam from a set of candidate UE beams, wherein the measuring comprises measuring a spectral efficiency associated with the candidate UE beam;
- and
- transmit a measurement report indicating an effective reference signal received power associated with the candidate UE beam, wherein the effective reference signal received power is calculated using the spectral efficiency associated with the candidate UE beam.
