Image processing device and method

An image processing device comprising:

• a determiner configured to determine whether a ratio of a number of pixels having a luminance value less than or equal to a threshold luminance value among synthesis target pixels to the number of the synthesis target pixels located at a same position in a plurality of images is less than a threshold ratio;
• and
• an image synthesizer configured to perform image synthesis by adjusting a plurality of weights for each of the synthesis target pixels based on a result of the determination.

An image processing method comprising:

• determining whether there is an image difference between a plurality of images of a scene based on luminance values of synthesis target pixels located at a same position in the plurality of images, wherein the image difference includes at least one of an image difference corresponding to flicker or an image difference corresponding to a motion of an object of the scene;
• and
• performing image synthesis by adjusting a plurality of weights for each of the synthesis target pixels based on a result of the determination.
