Auto-indexing lance positioner apparatus and system

A process of cleaning a plurality of tubes in a heat exchanger comprising:

• operably coupling a remote controller to a flexible lance drive apparatus and a positioner frame that is removably fastenable to a heat exchanger tube sheet, wherein:
• the remote controller includes an I/O interface disposed about an exterior of the hand-held housing, and
• the I/O interface includes a plurality of tactile controls that includes a safety dump lever operable to control a supply of pressurized fluid through at least one flexible cleaning lance hose;
• initiating, with the I/O interface, cleaning of the plurality of tubes in the heat exchanger;
• receiving, at a communications interface, incoming signals generated during movement of the at least one flexible cleaning lance hose;
• processing, with a processor communicatively coupled to the communications interface, the incoming signals;
• and
• generating control signals based on at least one of the processed signals and user input provided at the plurality of tactile controls, wherein the control signals control movement of the at least one flexible cleaning lance hose.
