Abstract
A percussive massage device may include a housing having a housing interior. A motor may be positioned in the housing interior and may include a rotatable motor shaft having a motor axis. A battery may be positioned in the housing interior. A switch may be configured to activate the motor. A reciprocating shaft may operatively be connected to the rotatable motor shaft. The reciprocating shaft may include a distal end and is able to reciprocate in response to rotation of the rotatable motor shaft. A vent may extend through a vent opening in the housing to provide ventilation to the housing interior.
Claims20
A percussive massage device comprising:
- a housing, the housing comprising:
- a first housing half comprising a first finger recess;
- and
- a second housing half comprising a second finger recess, wherein the first housing half and the second housing half meet on a first plane, the first housing half is opposed to the second housing half relative to the first plane, and the first finger recess is opposed to the second finger recess relative to the first plane:
- wherein a shape of the housing on the first plane comprises:
- a convex top end,
- two lateral rounded corners, wherein the two lateral rounded corners define opposite lateral ends of the convex top end,
- a first lower rounded corner, the first lower rounded corner being opposed to the convex top end, wherein the shape of the housing on the first plane tapers inward from the two lateral rounded corners down to the first lower rounded corner;
- a motor disposed in the housing, the motor comprising a rotatable motor shaft;
- a battery disposed in the housing;
- a switch configured to activate the motor;
- and
- a reciprocating shaft operatively connected to the rotatable motor shaft, wherein:
- the reciprocating shaft is configured to reciprocate in response to rotation of the rotatable motor shaft, and
- the reciprocating shaft exits the housing at the first lower rounded corner.
A percussive massage device comprising:
- a housing, wherein:
- the housing has a first profile on a first plane and a second profile on a second plane, the second plane being perpendicular to the first plane, wherein:
- the first profile comprises:
- a convex top end,
- two lateral rounded corners, wherein the two lateral rounded corners define opposite lateral ends of the convex top end,
- a first lower rounded corner, the first lower rounded corner being opposed to the convex top end, wherein the first profile tapers inward from the two lateral rounded corners down to the first lower rounded corner, and
- the second profile comprises:
- an upper rounded end,
- a second lower rounded corner, the second rounded lower corner being opposed to the upper rounded end, and
- two opposed straight edges extending from the upper rounded end to the second lower rounded corner;
- a motor disposed in the housing, the motor comprising a rotatable motor shaft;
- a battery disposed in the housing;
- a switch configured to activate the motor;
- and
- a reciprocating shaft operatively connected to the rotatable motor shaft, wherein:
- the reciprocating shaft is configured to reciprocate in response to rotation of the rotatable motor shaft, and
- the reciprocating shaft exits the housing where the first lower rounded corner intersects the second lower rounded corner.
A percussive massage device comprising:
- a housing;
- a motor disposed in the housing, the motor comprising a rotatable motor shaft;
- a battery disposed in the housing;
- a switch configured to activate the motor;
- and
- a reciprocating shaft operatively connected to the rotatable motor shaft, wherein:
- the reciprocating shaft defines a reciprocation axis,
- the reciprocating shaft is configured to reciprocate in response to rotation of the rotatable motor shaft,
- the reciprocating shaft exits the housing at an exit point,
- on a first plane, the housing tapers wider with increasing distance along the reciprocation axis from the exit point until reaching a widest point and tapers narrower with increasing distance along the reciprocation axis beyond the widest point, wherein the reciprocation axis lies on the first plane, and
- the housing defines two opposed finger recesses on opposite sides of the first plane, and a portion of each of the two opposed finger recesses is located at the widest point of the housing.
