Abstract
The present disclosure proposes a method for benchmarking of two or more mammalian oocytes in terms of their comparative extents of potential for supporting subsequent embryo development relative to one another. The method comprises determination of relative extents of respective plasma membrane permeabilities of a first oocyte and a second oocyte with regard to one another. The method further comprises sorting the first oocyte and the second oocyte in accordance with their relative extents of respective plasma membrane permeabilities, such that one of the first oocyte and the second oocyte with a relatively lower plasma-membrane permeability is benchmarked as having a relatively greater extent of potential for supporting a subsequent embryo development.
Claims17
A method for benchmarking of mammalian oocytes in terms of their comparative extents of potential for supporting a subsequent embryo development relative to one another;
- wherein the method comprises the following steps:
- step-A) determination of relative extents of respective plasma membrane permeabilities of a first oocyte and a second oocyte with regard to one another, and
- step-B) sorting the first oocyte and the second oocyte in accordance with their relative extents of respective plasma membrane permeabilities, such that one of the first oocyte and the second oocyte with a relatively lower plasma-membrane permeability is benchmarked as having a relatively greater extent of potential for supporting the subsequent embryo development.
A method for benchmarking of mammalian oocytes in terms of their comparative extents of potential for supporting a subsequent embryo development relative to one another;
- wherein the method comprises the following steps;
- step-A) determination of a relative extent of a plasma membrane permeabilities of a first oocyte over a first resistance value in relation with the first oocyte, and
- step-B) determining whether the first resistance value is higher than a pre-determined reference value;
- and if the first resistance value is greater than the reference value, benchmarking the first oocyte as having a sufficient extent of potential for supporting subsequent embryo development;
