Abstract
A sealing device for producing a sealed seam on a packaging material comprises: a pair of heated sealing rollers for providing the sealed seam in the packaging material, and a pair of non-heated conveyor rollers, which comprises a cylindrical conveying surface for moving the packaging material along a running direction of the sealing device. At least one of the pair of non-heated conveyor rollers comprises an inclined folding surface for folding the sealed seam. The inclined folding surface is inclined relative to the cylindrical conveying surface.
Claims20
A sealing device for producing a sealed seam on a packaging material, wherein the sealing device comprises:
- a pair of heated sealing rollers for providing the sealed seam in the packaging material;
- and
- a pair of non-heated conveyor rollers, which comprises a cylindrical conveying surface for moving the packaging material along a running direction of the sealing device;
- wherein at least one of the pair of non-heated conveyor rollers comprises an inclined folding surface for folding the sealed seam, wherein the inclined folding surface is inclined relative to the cylindrical conveying surface.
A method for producing a sealed seam on a packaging material, wherein the packaging material comprises a tubular portion as well as a seam portion that connects to the tubular portion, wherein the method comprises:
- moving the packaging material along a running direction of a sealing device;
- sealing the seam portion to provide a sealed seam;
- and
- folding the sealed seam from an unfolded position to a folded position.
