Butterfly fan inlet and chamber exhaust valve controllers for wave making system

A method for generating waves in a wave pool comprising:

• providing a pool area, at least one chamber for releasing water into the pool area to generate a wave in the pool area, a plenum in fluid communication with the at least one chamber, at least one fan positioned in fluid communication with the plenum, a valve controller, an exhaust valve, wherein air can be vented out of the chamber through the exhaust valve, and a first sensor in communication with the valve controller;
• monitoring an actual power consumption of the at least one fan with the first sensor;
• calculating an air flow to be vented from the chamber to reach a target power consumption of the at least one fan;
• and
• adjusting a degree to which the exhaust valve is opened using the valve controller in order to vent air from the chamber to achieve the target power consumption.
