Transition molding with flexible hinges

A method of manufacturing a molding, the method comprising the steps of:

• co-extruding a profile of unitary construction comprising:
• a central portion;
• at least one wing;
• and
• at least one hinge section joining the at least one wing to the central portion,
• wherein the central portion and the at least one wing are formed of a first material,
• wherein the at least one hinge section is formed of a second material, and
• wherein the second material is more flexible than the first material.

A method of installing a molding, the method comprising the steps of:

• obtaining an extruded profile of unitary construction comprising:
• a central portion;
• at least one wing;
• and
• at least one hinge section joining the at least one wing to the central portion,
• wherein the central portion and the at least one wing are formed of a first material,
• wherein the at least one hinge section is formed of a second material, and
• wherein the second material is more flexible than the first material;
• and
• pressing the extruded profile into a slot.
