Abstract
A recombinant protein comprising a functional polypeptide and, linked to the N-terminus of said functional polypeptide, an N-terminal spacer having a length such that the number of amino acid residues between a signal peptide cleaving site and an N-terminus proximal structural unit of said functional polypeptide is 14-24.
Claims19
An N-terminal spacer for improving expression of an Immunoglobulin binding polypeptide comprising at least three alpha helices, wherein said N-terminal spacer is defined by an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO. 17, 29-30, 33-35, 37-40, 43-44 and 47.
The nucleic acid molecule of claim 12, wherein said signal peptide comprises an amino acid sequence having at least 80% sequence identity to, or being defined by, an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO. 14 and 15, or
- wherein said signal peptide comprises an amino acid sequence having at least 80% sequence identity to or being defined by SEQ ID NO. 14.
