Resource allocation

A method comprising:

• receiving, for each user of a plurality of users, an initial resource allocation comprising an allocation of frequency resources to be used in a communication over a wireless downlink connection;
• allocating a portion of a total transmission power budget to each user of the plurality of users;
• and
• performing a resource redistribution to obtain a revised resource allocation for the plurality of users based on the portion of the total transmission power budget allocated to each user of the plurality of users, the revised resource allocation comprising, for at least one user of the plurality of users, a modified frequency allocation corresponding to a different range of frequencies than the allocation of frequency resources comprised in the initial resource allocation for the at least one user.

An apparatus comprising:

• means for receiving, for each user of a plurality of users, an initial resource allocation comprising an allocation of frequency resources to be used in a communication over a wireless downlink connection;
• means for allocating a portion of a total transmission power budget to each user of the plurality of users;
• and
• means for performing a resource redistribution to obtain a revised resource allocation for the plurality of users based on the portion of the total transmission power budget allocated to each user of the plurality of users, the revised resource allocation comprising, for at least one user of the plurality of users, a modified frequency allocation corresponding to a different range of frequencies than the allocation of frequency resources comprised in the initial resource allocation for the at least one user.
