Managing media streaming with a machine-learning model

A system comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• logic encoded in one or more non-transitory media for execution by the one or more processors and when executed are operable to:
• receive, from a wireless device, information about a plurality of users within proximity to a media player;
• determine, based on the information, user profiles associated with the plurality of users, the profiles each including media interests;
• generate a group profile that includes the profiles;
• provide the group profile and a request for one or more media items as input to a machine-learning model;
• output, with the machine-learning model, the one or more media items that satisfy the request based on the media interests;
• and
• provide a recommendation that includes the one or more media items.

Software encoded in one or more non-transitory computer-readable media for execution by one or more processors and when executed is operable to:

• receive, from a wireless device, information about a plurality of users within proximity to a media player;
• determine, based on the information, user profiles associated with the plurality of users, the profiles each including media interests;
• generate a group profile that includes the user profiles;
• provide the group profile and a request for one or more media items as input to a machine-learning model;
• output, with the machine-learning model, the one or more media items that satisfy the request based on the media interests;
• and
• provide a recommendation that includes the one or more media items.
