Abstract
A griddle system including an adjustable counterbalance for an upper platen assembly is disclosed.
Claims18
A method of adjusting a counterbalance supporting an upper platen above a lower cooking surface of a griddle, comprising:
- replacing a first pin setting a preload of the counterbalance with an offset pin having a first end with a first longitudinal axis and a second end with a second longitudinal axis, the first longitudinal axis being offset from the second longitudinal axis by a first distance, the preload of the counterbalance altered from a first preload prior to the replacing step to a second preload different from the first preload subsequent to the replacing step.
A method of adjusting a counterbalance supporting an upper platen relative to a lower cooking surface of a griddle, the method comprising:
- adjusting a position of an offset pin having a first end with a first longitudinal axis and a second end with a second longitudinal axis, the first longitudinal axis being offset from the second longitudinal axis;
- wherein the adjusting step comprises moving a stop surface cooperating with a flat surface of the first end of the offset pin to adjust a counterbalance force supplied by the counterbalance.
A method of adjusting a counterbalance supporting an upper platen relative to a cooking surface of a griddle, the method comprising:
- adjusting a counterbalance force supplied by the counterbalance to the upper platen by threading a set screw of the counterbalance from a first position to a second position, thereby moving an offset pin of the counterbalance in a slot of the counterbalance to change a preload force of a torsion spring of the counterbalance from a first preload force to a second preload force.
