Direct current (dc) voltage respiration detector

A method of detecting perfusing ventricular tachycardia (VT) comprising:

• injecting a direct current (DC) signal into two or more electrodes of a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD);
• receiving a plurality of electrical signals;
• determining if the received plurality of electrical signals include an indication of a respiration rate of a user;
• and
• if it is determined that the received plurality of electrical signals include the indication of the respiration rate of the user, providing an indication on the WCD to confirm a health status of the user.
