Abstract
A fibrous birth tissue composition fabricated from placental tissue is provided. Methods of processing a mammal's placental tissue to form a fibrous birth tissue composition are provided. Regenerative methods are also provided.
Claims19
A method of treating a tissue void in a mammalian subject, comprising:
- applying a fibrous birth tissue composition to the tissue void,
- wherein the fibrous birth tissue composition comprises:
- at least one porcine placental membrane, wherein the porcine placental membrane is treated with a bioburden reduction step, a detergent treatment step, and a viral inactivation step, followed by dehydrating the porcine placental membrane, subsequently cutting or milling the dehydrated porcine placental membrane into one or more fibers, and passing the one or more fibers through a sieve to isolate macro fibrils that form the fibrous birth tissue composition.
A method of treating a surgical site in a mammalian subject, comprising:
- applying a fibrous birth tissue composition to the surgical site,
- wherein the fibrous birth tissue composition comprises:
- at least one porcine placental membrane, wherein the porcine placental membrane is treated with a bioburden reduction step, a detergent treatment step, and a viral inactivation step, followed by dehydrating the porcine placental membrane, subsequently cutting or milling the dehydrated porcine placental membrane into one or more fibers, and passing the one or more fibers through a sieve to isolate macro fibrils that form the fibrous birth tissue composition.
A method of covering an implant or other medical device, comprising:
- applying a fibrous birth tissue composition to the implant or device;
- wherein the fibrous birth tissue composition comprises:
- at least one porcine placental membrane, wherein the porcine placental membrane is treated with a bioburden reduction step, a detergent treatment step, and a viral inactivation step, followed by dehydrating the porcine placental membrane, subsequently cutting or milling the dehydrated porcine placental membrane into one or more fibers, and passing the one or more fibers through a sieve to isolate macro fibrils that form the fibrous birth tissue composition, and
- wherein the placed on or within a mammalian body.
