A problem to be solved by conventional sound recording apparatuses is how to make it possible to acquire high quality recording results. It is possible to acquire a high-quality recording result by using a sound recording apparatus that has a microphone accommodated in a housing thereof and is used to record a user's abdominal sounds in a state where a sound collecting portion of the housing near the microphone is in contact with the user's abdomen, the sound recording apparatus including: an environment detection unit 41 that detects at least one of an inappropriate environment that is inappropriate for recording the abdominal sounds and an appropriate environment that is appropriate for recording the abdominal sounds; and a sound recording processing unit 51 that performs processing related to sound recording based on a result of detection by the environment detection unit 41.
