1-29. (canceled)
A method relating to wildfire smoke for use by a grower of a pre-harvest edible agricultural product susceptible to smoke taint, the method comprising:
- receiving transmitted information relating to wildfire smoke, the transmitted information received by the grower and comprising one or more of:
- a risk of smoke exposure for a geographical location encompassing where the pre-harvest edible agricultural product is located,
- a risk of smoke taint for the pre-harvest edible agricultural product, or
- a treatment recommendation and/or instruction relating to protecting the pre-harvest edible agricultural product against wildfire smoke taint and comprising one or more of:
- a treatment type, a treatment dosage, a timing of treatment, a frequency of treatment, or any combination thereof;
- and
- based on the received transmitted information relating to wildfire smoke, treating the pre-harvest edible agricultural product to protect against compounds present in wildfire smoke.
A method for assisting a grower in minimizing wildfire smoke taint of a pre-harvest edible agricultural product susceptible to smoke taint, the method comprising:
- generating a treatment instruction or recommendation that relates to application of a protective treatment product to the pre-harvest edible agricultural product to protect against wildfire smoke taint, wherein the treatment instruction or recommendation is based on location information associated with pre-harvest edible agricultural product and on one or more of:
- (i) wildfire smoke sensor data, preferably from a sensor network, (ii) satellite generated data, (iii) aerial drone generated data, and/or (iv) a wildfire occurrence prediction risk threshold being exceeded;
- and
- transmitting the treatment instruction or recommendation to a grower of the pre-harvest edible agricultural product susceptible to smoke taint, wherein the grower is a purchaser of the protective treatment product.
