A method for killing or inactivating a virus suspended in air in a space, the method comprising dispensing an aerosol composition into the space, the aerosol composition comprising:
- a) an alcohol selected from ethanol and isopropanol;
- b) an alkyldimethylbenzylammonium compound;
- c) polyhexanide;
- and
- d) water.
