Abstract
A cover member according to the present invention comprises: a glass plate having a first surface and a second surface; and a functional film formed on the first surface. The functional film is formed of a single film, and has an antiglare function and an antimicrobial function.

- a glass plate having a first surface and a second surface;
- and
- a functional film formed on the first surface,
- wherein the functional film is formed of a single film, and
- the functional film has an antiglare function and an antimicrobial function.

A method for manufacturing a cover member, the method comprising:
- forming a coating liquid in which inorganic oxide fine particles and an antimicrobial metal ion are added to a silicon alkoxide;
- applying the coating liquid to a glass plate;
- and
- heating the glass plate to which the coating liquid is applied.
