Abstract
A refuse vehicle can include a controller in communication with a hydraulic system of the refuse vehicle. The controller can control the hydraulic system to supply fluid power to a packer actuator of the refuse vehicle such that the packer actuator moves a packer of the refuse vehicle, determine that one or more other vehicle functions are active, and reduce the fluid power supplied to the packer actuator, while maintaining an amount of fluid power supplied to one or more components of the refuse vehicle, to adjust a load applied to the hydraulic system. The fluid power supplied to the packer actuator can be reduced by an amount without impacting a performance of the one or more components.
Claims20
A refuse vehicle comprising:
- a body defining a storage compartment;
- a hydraulic system configured to:
- supply fluid power to an actuator that is configured to move a component of the refuse vehicle relative to the storage compartment;
- and
- a controller in communication with the hydraulic system, the controller configured to:
- control the hydraulic system to supply the fluid power to the actuator such that the actuator moves the component, at a first rate;
- obtain information associated with one or more vehicle functions of the refuse vehicle;
- and
- reduce the fluid power supplied to the actuator, to adjust a load applied to the hydraulic system, wherein the fluid power supplied to the actuator is reduced by an amount such that the actuator moves the component, at a second rate that is different from the first rate, based on the information without impacting a performance of the one or more vehicle functions.
A refuse system, comprising:
- a hydraulic system configured to:
- supply fluid power to an actuator configured to perform a first refuse system function;
- and
- a controller in communication with the hydraulic system, the controller configured to:
- control the hydraulic system to supply the fluid power to the actuator such that the actuator moves a component of the refuse system at a first rate;
- obtain information associated with one or more second refuse system functions;
- and
- reduce the fluid power supplied to the actuator to adjust a load applied to the hydraulic system, wherein the fluid power supplied to the actuator is reduced by an amount such that the actuator moves the component, at a second rate that is different from the first rate, based on the information without impacting a performance of the one or more second refuse system functions.
A refuse vehicle, comprising:
- a body defining a storage compartment;
- a hydraulic system configured to:
- supply fluid power to an actuator that is configured to move a component of the refuse vehicle relative to the storage compartment;
- and
- a controller in communication with the hydraulic system, the controller configured to:
- control the hydraulic system to supply the fluid power to the actuator;
- obtain information associated with one or more vehicle functions;
- and
- reduce the fluid power supplied to the actuator such that the actuator moves the component at a reduced rate without impacting a performance of the one or more vehicle functions.
