Physical downlink control channel (pdcch) monitoring with overlapping resources

An apparatus comprising:

• one or more memories;
• one or more processors, coupled to the one or more memories, and configured to:
• identify a plurality of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates within a search space set of a downlink control channel;
• determine that at least one resource element (RE) of a PDCCH candidate from the plurality of PDCCH candidates overlaps with at least one RE of a preconfigured resource allocated for transmission of a synchronization signal block (SSB);
• and
• exclude monitoring of the PDCCH candidate based on the determination.

A method of wireless communication, comprising:

• identifying, by a wireless communication device, a plurality of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates within a search space set of a downlink control channel;
• determining, by the wireless communication device, that at least one resource element (RE) of a PDCCH candidate from the plurality of PDCCH candidates overlaps with at least one RE of a preconfigured resource allocated for transmission of a synchronization signal block (SSB);
• and
• excluding monitoring of the PDCCH candidate based on the determination.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a set of instructions for wireless communication, the set of instructions comprising:

• one or more instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a user equipment (UE), cause the UE to:
• identify a plurality of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates within a search space set of a downlink control channel;
• determine that at least one resource element (RE) of a PDCCH candidate from the plurality of PDCCH candidates overlaps with at least one RE of a preconfigured resource allocated for transmission of a synchronization signal block (SSB);
• and
• exclude monitoring of the PDCCH candidate based on the determination.
