Abstract
A method for operating a fan module, wherein the fan module has a fan wheel and a motor for driving the fan wheel. The motor is operated in a cleaning operating mode to loosen contamination in which the motor is operated at a predetermined cleaning speed. The cleaning speed is greater than the rated speed of the motor. There is also described a fan module by way of which the method is carried out.

A method for operating a fan module, which has a fan wheel and a motor for driving the fan wheel, the method comprising:
- operating the motor in a cleaning operating mode to remove contamination and thereby operating the motor at a predetermined cleaning speed that is greater than a rated speed of the motor.
