Abstract
A transcatheter stent-valve having replacement leaflets that are attached along their free edges to cords, the cords are attached to fastening sites located downstream of free edges. The replacement leaflet base is attached to the stent-valve frame with an attachment length less than the radius of the stent-valve frame. The stent-valve frame is shorter in length than the radius of the stent-valve frame.
Claims20
A replacement valve for transcatheter implant into native cardiac valve tissues of a heart, the replacement valve having an expandable stent-valve frame that is delivered in a small diameter configuration and expanded out to a larger diameter configuration into the native cardiac valve tissue, said replacement valve comprising,
- A. supported replacement leaflets having a leaflet base at a leaflet upstream end, said leaflet base being attached to said expandable stent-valve frame via a leaflet-frame attachment extending along a perimeter of said expandable stent-valve frame,
- B. said leaflet-frame attachment having an attachment axial length in the direction of a central axis of said expandable stent-valve frame that is less than a radius of said expandable stent-valve frame,
- C. said supported replacement leaflets having supported free edges located at a leaflet downstream end, said supported free edges of one of said supported replacement leaflet being free to move relative to and coapt with said supported free edges of a neighboring of said supported replacement leaflets, said supported free edges being attached to cords at cord upstream ends, said cords having cord downstream ends attached to fastening sites located downstream of said supported free edges.
A replacement valve for implant into native cardiac valve tissues of a heart comprising,
- A. replacement leaflets having a leaflet base at a leaflet upstream end, said leaflet base being attached to an expandable stent-valve frame via a leaflet-frame attachment that extends around a perimeter of said stent-valve frame,
- B. said replacement leaflets having free edges that are free to move relative to said free edges of neighboring of said replacement leaflets, said free edges being attached to upstream ends of a plurality of cords, said plurality of cords having downstream ends attached to two or more fastening sites located downstream of said free edges.
A replacement valve for implant into native cardiac valve tissues of a heart comprising,
- A. replacement leaflets having a leaflet base at a leaflet upstream end, said leaflet base being attached to an expandable stent-valve frame via a leaflet-frame attachment,
- B. said replacement leaflets having free edges that are free to move relative to free edges of neighboring of said replacement leaflets, said free edges being attached to cords, said cords being attached to two or more fastening sites located downstream of said free edges,
- C. said leaflet-frame attachment having a leaflet attachment axial length in the direction of a central axis of said expandable stent-valve frame that is less than a radius of said expandable stent-valve frame.
