Compressor with variable performance single phase induction motor

A single phase induction motor of a scroll compressor, the motor comprising:

• a main winding that is center tapped forming:
• a first winding having a first end and a second end;
• a second winding having a third end and a fourth end;
• and
• a first node between the second end of the first winding and the third end of the second winding;
• a first switch:
• including a first input to receive single phase power from a source via a second node;
• including a first output connected to the first end of the first winding;
• and
• including a second output connected to the first node between the second end of the first winding and the third end of the second winding;
• a second switch:
• including a second input connected to the fourth end of the second winding via a third node;
• including a second output connected to the source;
• and
• an auxiliary winding connected between the third node and the second node.
