An electric vehicle using an electric motor as a power source for

• traveling, the electric vehicle comprising:
• an accelerator pedal;
• a pseudo-shifter;
• and
• a controller configured to control motor torque output by the electric motor,
• wherein, the controller comprises:
• a memory;
• and
• a processor,
• wherein, the memory configured to store a first map which regulates a relation between a virtual engine speed of a virtual engine which is controlled torque by operation of the accelerator pedal, an operation amount of the accelerator pedal, and a virtual engine output torque of the virtual engine, and
• wherein, the processor is configured to execute:
• a first process of calculating the virtual engine speed by using a gear ratio determined by a shift position selected by the pseudo-shifter and a wheel rotation speed of the electric vehicle,
• a second process of calculating the virtual engine output torque corresponding to the virtual engine speed calculated in the first process and a detected operation amount of the accelerator pedal by using the first map, and
• a third process of calculating the motor torque by using the virtual engine output torque calculated in the second process.
