Abstract
The present invention relates to a composite comprising a polymer matrix, graphene and at least one thermally conductive inorganic filler, wherein the graphene and the at least one thermally conductive inorganic filler are dispersed within the polymer matrix. The composites have high thermal conductivities and are particularly useful in solar thermal collectors and other heat exchangers.
Claims14
A composite comprising a polymer matrix, graphene and at least one thermally conductive inorganic filler, wherein the graphene and the at least one thermally conductive inorganic filler are dispersed within the polymer matrix.
A composite according to any preceding claim, wherein the wt % of the at least one thermally conductive inorganic filler in the matrix is in the range from 10 wt % to 30 wt %.
A composite according to any preceding claim, wherein the wt % of the graphene in the polymer matrix is greater than the wt % of the at least one thermally conductive inorganic filler in the matrix.
A composite according to any preceding claim, wherein the at least one thermally conductive inorganic filler comprises a group 13 nitride.
A composite according to any preceding claim, wherein the polymer matrix comprises a polyamide.
A solar thermal collector comprising the composite of any preceding claim.
