Complementary sequence overlay for ook-based low-power wake-up signal

A user device (UE), comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• one or more processors configured to, when executing instructions stored in the memory, cause the UE to:
• receive, from a base station, a low-power (LP) wake-up signal (LP-WUS), the LP-WUS comprising one or more on-off keying (OOK) symbols and one or more complementary sequences overlaying at least one OOK symbol of the one or more OOK symbols, the one or more complementary sequences comprising at least one indication of the UE to transition from a power saving mode to an active mode;
• and
• transition, in response to the LP-WUS, from a power saving mode to an active mode.

A baseband processor, comprising:

• one or more processors configured to:
• receive a low-power (LP) wake-up signal (LP-WUS) originating from a base station, the LP-WUS comprising one or more on-off keying (OOK) symbols and one or more complementary sequences overlaying at least one OOK symbol of the one or more OOK symbols, the one or more complementary sequences comprising at least one indication of a user equipment (UE) to transition from a power saving mode to an active mode;
• and
• transition, in response to the LP-WUS, from a power saving mode to an active mode.
